Memory Bus
- The memory bus is a communication pathway that connects the CPU (central processing unit) to the main memory (RAM) in a computer system.
- Physically, a bus is a set of wires which Carrys a group of bits in parallel.
- Every computer system has the following three types of buses for interconnecting the CPU and the memory.
Every computer system has three types of buses to connect the CPU and memory:
- Data bus
- Address bus
- Control Bus
1) Data Bus:
- Transfer actual data between C.P.U. & Memory.
2)Address bus:
- Carries the address (location) in memory where the CPU wants to read or write data.
3)Central Bus:
- Sends control signals from the CPU to memory.
- These signals tell memory whether to read data or write data at a paricular address.
