Mobile App

  • A mobile app is a piece of a program intended to run on a mobile or tablet.
  • Mobile apps are bringing productivity assistants such as E-mail ,Calendar etc.
  • Public demand for apps such as mobile games ,ticket purchase etc.

BHIM app: 

  • The BHIM app stands for Bharat Interface for Money is a mobile payment application developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to facilitate fast, secure, and simple digital transactions using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
  • Launch Date: 30th December 2016
  • Launched By: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Developed By: National Payments Corporation of India(NPCI)
  • Purpose: To promote Digital India and support cashless transactions after demonetization.

IRCTC [ Indian railway catering and tourism corporation]:

  • Online train ticket booking.
  • Catering services (food and beverages on trains)
  • Tourism packages (including hotel bookings, tours, etc.)
  • Tatkal and premium train ticket bookings.
  • A user can search ,book train ticket, view and can cancel the ticket.
  • Full Form:Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation
  • Founded:27 September 1999 but launched  online ticketing portal in August 2002 
  • Parent Organization: Indian Railways (Ministry of Railways, Govt. of India)

Digilocker:

  • Full Form: Digital Locker
  • Founded: Concept introduced in February 2015 officially launched on 1 July 2015
  • Developed By: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
  • Parent Initiative: Digital India (Government of India)

  • You get 1 GB of cloud storage in DigiLocker for uploading your documents.
  • Each individual file you upload cannot exceed 10 MB in size.

Voter help Line: (Election Commission of India (ECI))

  • The Voter Helpline is a service launched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to help Indian citizens with all aspects of voter registration, information, and assistance related to elections.

  • Developed by the Election Commission of India
