Component of Libre office window
1.Title Bar:-
The line seen at the top of the Windows is called Title Bar.Title Bar Displays name of the file as as well as minimize,restore,maximize and close button are available at the right side of this bar for controlling the window.
The name of the current open file and software displays in the title bar.File open in LibreOffice Writer is named Untitled 1(When the document is not yet named) by Default.
Close Button: is used for closing Writer Window.
Minimize Button: is used to minimize the window .
Restore button: is used to restoring (if window is Maximize) the windows.Similarly
Maximize button: is used to maximize(if window is restoring) the windows.Right click on Title Bar or use Alt+Spacebar keys to access control
menu.
2.Menu Bar:
The menu bar displays at below the title bar. All commands are stored in Menu Bar. Each Menu display commands related to some special group.
In writer, All commands are organised in 11 menus, such as :
File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Styles, Table, Form, Tools, Windows, Help,that allow the user to perform tasks.
3.Toolbars:
The collection of buttons (usually with icons) that provide shortcuts to do the tasks; typically located at the below of the Menu Bar.
I)Standard Toolbar II) Formatting Toolbar
I) Standard Toolbar:
Standard toolbar displays at the below of menu bar. All general purpose commands(cut,copy,paste,open,save,print,undo,redo,insert
text box,insert table,inerst pictures, charts, etc.) that can be used in a document are located in the Standard tolbar in the form of icon.
II)Formatting Toolbar:
Formatting Toolbar displays at the below of standard toolbar.All general formatting commands(paragraph setting, Font name and
size,bold,italic,underline,superscript,subscript,text,alignment,bullet and numbering,indent setting, etc.) that can be used in adocument are located in the
formatting toolbar in the fom of icon.
Note:
You can hide/show the Standard toolbar and Formatting toolbar.For this, click View Menu and select Toolbar and choose standard or Formatting command.
4.Ruler:-
The Ruler is located at the top (Horizontal) and left (vertical) of your document that shows the Indent,margin and Tab settings(on the horizontal ruler). The horizontal ruler across the Top of document is visible by default, but the Vertical Ruler on the left is hidden.
To enable the vertical ruler, choose View>Ruler>Vertical Ruler from the Menubar.
Shortcut Key:Ctrl+Shift+R to quick show or hide both rulers.
Note:
Indent:-With the help of indent to create setting in a particular paragraph.
Types of indent:-
- After text indent (Left Indent)
- Before text indent (Right Indent)
- First Line Indent
Margin:-Margin determine the space between the four edges of the page and text of document.
OR
A margin is a space separating text or other elements from the edge of the paper.
Types of Margin:-
■Top Margin 0.79"
■Bottom Margin 0.79"
■Left Margin 0.79"
■Right Margin 0.79"
Tab:Tab is used to move the cursor forward. You can do this work by spacebar also but only tab key should be used for this. When you start Writer,then it sets tal at 0.5" automatically. To move tab to next o.5,only tab key is pressed.Tab dialog box can be used for tab setting.Tabs in writer are Left Tab,Right Tab, Centered Tab and Character Tab.
5.Scroll Bar:
Every document has horizontal and vertical scroll Bar,the button appear in both side of scroll bar is called scroll button.
You can hide/show the scroll bar. For this, click View Menu and select Scrollbars command.
6.Drawing Bar:
The Drawing bar contains frequently used editing tools.
7.Status Bar:-
This bar appears at the bottom of the screen. Status Bar provides information of active document or work that we are doing. The status of text or doument is dispayed in status bar.
In this,page number, Word and character Count,Page style, Text language, Insert mode,Selection mode,view layout,Zoom slider with Zoom percentage.
*Zoom Size of Libreoffice Writer:-
Minimum Zoom size: 20%
Maximum Zoom size: 600%
8.Side Bar:-Sidebar normally open by default on the right side of the writer. You can select View>Sidebar from the View Menu bar to display it.The Sidebar also has a Hide/Show icon.
Sidebar contains five decks by default: Properties,Page,styles,Gallery,an Navigator.
Shortcut key of Sidebar: Ctrl+F5
Font Name and Size of Libreoffice Writer:-
* Minimum font size: 6pt/2pt minimum possible size
* Maximum fint size: 96pt/999.9pt maximum possible size
Default font size of Libreoffice writer -12pt
Default font name of Libreoffice writer-Liberation Serif
Note: File Extension of Libreoffice Writer -.odt

Recognizing these extensions ensures that files are accessed and edited with the correct applications, aiding in efficient file management.
✩ Page Orientation:-
There are two types of orientation.
♦ Portrait(vertical)
♦Landscape(Horizontal)
Note:-Default Orientation of Libreoffice Writer is Portrait.
