Tools Menu
About Tool Menu:This menu provides utility functions for editing, language, document information and other application settings.
Spelling and Grammar (F7): Checks for spelling (red underline) and grammatical errors in the document.
Automatic Spell Checking (Shift+F7): Automatically check spelling while you type and underline possible misspelled words with a red wavy line.
Thesaurus (Ctrl+F7): Finds synonyms and antonyms (Thesaurus).
Language: Defines the default languages and some other local settings for documents.
Word Count: Provides statistics about the document, such as the number of pages, words and lines.
AutoCorrect: Automatically corrects common typing errors and can be customized to replace specific text as you type.
Auto Text: AutoText is a common type of building block that stores text and graphics.
Image map:
- Allows you to attach URLs to specific areas, called hotspots, on a graphic or a group of graphics.
- An image map is a group of one or more hotspots.
Chapter Numbering: Formats selected paragraphs into a hierarchical structure of headings and subheadings.
Line Numbering: Applies consecutive line numbers to the selected paragraph.
Footnote / Endnote: Inserts a footnote (at the bottom of the page) or endnote (at the end of the document).
Mail Merge Wizard: A step-by-step guide for creating a mail merge (personalized mass documents).
Protect Document:Use this protection to prevent accidental changes in fields.
Calculate(ctrl++): It allows you to perform basic mathematical calculations directly within your text documents.
Sort: Allows you to organize selected text, lists, or table rows alphabetically or numerically.
Macros: Macros are a feature that lets you automate repetitive tasks by recording and replaying a sequence of commands or mouse actions.
Extension manager(ctrl+Alt+E): It is a utility for installing, managing, and removing extensions that add new features and functionality to your office suite.
Customize: Through this option,modify the appearance and functions of the application's toolbars and menus.
Options(Alt+F12): Provides functions for program customization and document analysis.
