Operating System
- Operating system is a software program that controls internal activities of the computer hardware and provide user interface .
- Application programs need to interact with the operating system for being hardware resources .
- OS is the first program loaded in the memory after the computer is switched on.

- This interface enables a user to use hardware resources efficiently.
Function of operating system:
1) Processor management:
The operating system assigns a processor (If a computer has more than one processor) to the different tasks that must be performed by the computer.
2) memory management:
OS allocates the main memory and secondary memory to the system program, user program and data.
3) File management:

4) I/O management:
The OS is also responsible for all the input output devices such as mouse, keyboard, printer, web camera that are working properly or not.
5) Security management:
OS stabilizes data security such that it keeps different programs and their data in such a manner that do not interface with each other. .It also protect data from being destroyed by any other user.
