Table menu

This menu contains all the tools needed for creating, modifying, and formatting tables within the document.

Insert Table (Ctrl+F12): Creates a new table.

*By Default Row and column: 2,2

Insert Row, Column:

  • Inserts rows above/below or columns before/after the current selection.

Delete:

  • Deletes the selected Rows, Columns, or the entire Table.

Select:

  • Selects the current Table, Row, Column, or Cell.

Size:

  • Manually adjusts Row Height or Column Width and offers options to Minimize or Distribute them Evenly.

Merge Cells:

  • Combines two or more selected cells into a single cell.

Split Cells:

  • Divides a single selected cell into multiple rows or columns.

Merge Table:

  • Joins two adjacent tables.

Split Table:

  • Divides a table into two separate tables.

Protect cells: 

  • In LibreOffice Calc you can protect sheets and the document as a whole. You can choose whether the cells are protected against accidental changes.

Unprotect cells:

  • This action removes protection from the selected cells, allowing for content to be added or changed.

AutoFormat Style:

  • Table AutoFormat Styles provide pre-built formatting for tables, covering elements like borders, backgrounds, and cell formatting, which can be applied to make tables visually consistent.

Number Recognition:

  • Number format options are available for table and number list, allowing you to control how numbers appear in different contexts. 

Header Rows Repeat Across pages:

  •  When you work with a very long table, it will run across multiple pages.
  • You can set up the table so that the table header row or rows appear on each page automatically.

Row to break  Across Pages: 

  • Allows a page break or column break inside a row of the table.
  • This option is not applied to the first row in a table if the Repeat Heading option is selected.

Convert:

  • Allows conversion between Text to Table and Table to Text.

Formula (F2):

  • Activates the formula bar for cell calculations.

Sort:

  • Sorts the data within the table.

Properties:

  • Opens a dialog to set the table's name, alignment, spacing, column width, borders, and background.
