E-mail Address– 

Every e-mail address has three main parts-

abc123@gmail.com 

  1.  Abc123 → Account name or user name 

All the email account names on a server have to be unique.

Email addresses are not case-sensitive. 

Account name cannot be longer than 64 character. 

  1. @ (at symbol) → 

Separates the username from the domain.There must be one (and ONLY one) @ sign in an email address. If the address does not have this sign —it is l'email address.

  1. gmail.com → Domain Name or name of server

This part of the email address is the name of the server that hosts your emails.

Structure of email

  •  Email Header Structure-

  1. From:
    The sender’s name and email address.
  2. To:
    The recipient’s email address(es).
  3. Cc (Carbon Copy):
    Other people who should receive a copy (visible to all recipients).
  4. Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy):
    Hidden recipients — others won’t see these addresses.
  5. Date:
    When the email was sent.
  6. Subject:
    A brief summary of the email’s topic (appears in the subject line).
  • Body – the main text or content of your email. Or  body contains the original message.
  • Attachment- 
    • E-mail has become more attractive to business because now it allows the user to attach a file to any email message.
    • any file format such as document images, audio or video files can be attached to an e-mail message. 
    • Attachment Size limit-

you can send up to 25 MB in attachments. If you have more than one attachment they can't  add up to more than 25MB.

  • Signature- 
    • The Signature of an email message is the personal information which automatically appears at the bottom of the outgoing message, use of signature is optional.
    • Signature block may include the following-
      • Full Name
      • Job title/Position
      • Organisation Name/division
      • Phone No. and E-Mail address.
