ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE [ A.I ]
- John McCarthy defined the term Artificial intelligence in 1950.
- It is a concept that refers to a computer's ability to perform tasks and make decisions that require some level of human intelligence.
- Now in many industries, people are using this technology to develop machine slaves to perform different activities.
- There are many sectors that have already started the use of AI like the IT sector, healthcare, automobile , etc.
Application of AI:
• Hand writing recognition
• Healthcare
• Gaming
• Manufacturing sector
• Intelligence robot
TYPES OF A.I –
1. Based on Capability
2. Based on functionality
Based on Capability:
1.) Narrow and weak AI –
Narrow AI is a type of AI which is able to perform a dedicated task with intelligence. ( Google assistant, alexa, Google lens)
2.) Deep or strong AI ( General AI )-
Deep AI is a type of intelligence which could perform any intellectual task with efficiency like a human.( Like Chatgpt, Gemini, Copilot etc.)
3.) Super AI –
Super AI is the level of intelligence of a system at which machines could replace human intelligence, and can perform any task better than humans.
Based on functionality
1. Reactive Machines–
Basic AI systems that respond to current inputs only.
They do not store memories or use past experiences to make decisions.
Examples:-- Simple AI in games
2. Limited Memory
AI that can use past experiences or historical data for a short time to make decisions.
Examples:
- Self-driving cars (store temporary data like nearby cars' speed/distance)
- Machine learning models (e.g., image recognition, GPT models)
3. Theory of Mind (Future)
AI that can understand emotions, beliefs, intentions, and mental states of humans or other entities.
Status:Still in research and early development
4. Self-aware AI (Future)
AI that possesses consciousness, self-awareness, and an understanding of its own existence. This is only
